Two weeks (so one third) of the challenge done, and I've hit a bit of a slump. Some days it's fine, I went on a walk on Saturday and took some photos of a scenic spot near me, but I also got caught in a downpour on Friday (with no brolly) which was not pleasant. I tend to top up my steps by walking up and down the front room, so I fully expect to have a furrow worn into my floor by the end of things (also, confused cats).
Hopefully this slump will soon go, and I'll get back into the swing of things. Any suggestions for making walks more fun gratefully appreciated!

Bit of a comedy of errors today! I wanted to get a bus to get a connecton to see my parents. I just missed the regular bus (he saw me but had pulled away), so I went to the other end of my estate to get anther bus, but I just missed that, so I walked to the next estate to get ANOTHER bus, but had missed it by five minutes! Annoying for me, but when I checked my pedometer I'd clocked up nearly 2500 steps, so it had it's upside.

In the end I got to see my parents a bit later than planned, but I had a good time. Ended up watching Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark with my Dad, which was great fun. Even though I have a degree in Archaeology, I don't think he believed me when I said that the film showed what archaeology is really like ;)

I think tomorrow will involve a lie-in, and getting my steps in as early as possible so I can spend the afternoon/evening relaxing.

Er, well maybe "daily" posts was a bit ambitious, but still. I'm still doing at least 10,000 steps a day, and this challenge does not give weekends off! I think the weekends will be harder, as whilst I have more time to walk, I tend to want to switch off and relax. During the week I have things I have to do, which prompts me to walk.
So, I'll have to decide if I want to do lots of small trips (of around 1500 steps each), or one long walk that will do about 6000 steps, to be topped up. That, however, is a decision for tomorrow!

After some feedback I've changed the text colour to white instead of black, for ease of reading. Is this better? Or should I make the background a bit darker?
Yesterday was day one of my Activity4Charity challenge, and I hit the day's target, having walked 10158 steps (well, more that that, but for some daft reason I took my pedometer off when I got home, and it stayed off for most of the evening). Whilst it was tiring,it was less tiring than I expected- I hadn't been doing much walking prior to this, so I was a bit out of practice.

Whilst my last challenge had me donning my hat and fluffy jumper, this one looks set to have me under a brolly, given the weather recently! Though walking home earlier the rain couldn't decide how hard it wanted to fall, so the brolly was up and down like a yo-yo.

Also, Mind (the charity I've chosen to support in this challenge) have published a piece I wrote for them. I was asked if I'd be willing to do so after the last event, and I was more than happy to, as I felt the challenge benefited me as well as them.

After a long hiatus, I've decided to revive the blog. Cue much faffing around with settings and layout, as I thought red, black and white was getting a bit tired, hence the purpleness.

One of the reasons I want to revive the blog is that for the second time I will be taking part in Activity4Charity's 10,000 steps challenge, again raising money for MIND, the mental health charity. So I'll be doing daily updates about that, as well as reviews and also craft posts, as I've started doing cross-stitch again.
